    Learning Module Description. Understanding and application of correct principles of quality auditing is one of the keys...to having a quality organization. The Learning Module is designed to help learners understand the principles of quality auditing and prepare for the Certified Quality Auditor examination. It is based on the Body of Knowledge for the American Society for Quality (ASQ) Certified Quality Auditor (CQA).
    Learning Materials. Each participant will receive a CQA Primer. Learning Objectives. Participants will have a foundational understanding of the quality auditing in preparation for the CQA Examination.

    The weekly Cajun jam at the Moon attracts some of the areas best musicians as well as folks from around the globe. Open...to all, the jam allows players of all skill levels to sit in and play Cajun tunes the way they used to be played (comme dans l’vieux temps), all acoustic on the back porch.

    De temps en temps (from time to time), we have someone host the jam. On other nights, the sessions evolve depending on the musicians playing. It’s never scripted and never the same, you never know what’s coming next or who might show up.

    You don’t have to play to enjoy the jam. Have a drink, dance, just kick back, listen and meet folks from all around the world.

    The jam has become world famous thanks to numerous local, regional and national publications as well as National Geographic France and a featured spot on Radio-Canada Television “ Le telejournal”.

    The jam kicks off around 8pm and entry is free (no cover).

    Triumph Over Tragedy Workshop
    Triumph Over Tragedy training was developed from current research and a decade's...worth of experiences assisting communities in response to large-scale disasters. Triumph over Tragedy, Second Edition focuses on helping individuals and communities cope with the emotional impacts of disaster events. Dr. Brenda Wiens, of University of Florida, one of the authors of the program will lead the half day training. The peer-to-peer approach provides practical steps and skills that community organizations can use on a daily basis in supporting and encouraging each other through the emotional challenges they jointly face. Central to the curriculum is a set of seven supportive communications tools that can be employed.
    At this train-the trainer workshop, LAVOAD members will learn how to train others to support those struggling with disasters. Members will also learn of core communication skills that help open doors for those that are hurting. The knowledge learned will help participants lead other community groups through the curriculum. Each participant will receive a Triumph Over Tragedy course manual (258 pp).
    The Triumph Over Tragedy curriculum…
    · Describes the most recent research on the prevention and treatment of stress reactions after critical events
    · Is designed for wide audience including: disaster recovery planners, community leaders, first responders, health and mental health professionals and other community stakeholders
    · Focuses on individual and community-wide stress and other public reactions after a disaster, terrorism or bioterrorism
    · Includes sections on rural areas, community needs in the immediate wake of disaster, helping individuals and long-term recovery
    · Covers issues specific to behavioral health and community response to bioterrorism
